TheFertilife offers a full range of fertility tests in Gurgaon for both partners under Dr. Anshika Lekhi. Fertility testing identifies the reason a couple has not conceived. It covers ovarian reserve, hormone levels, tubal patency and semen quality. This means any treatment that follows is based on a diagnosis rather than guesswork.

"The couples I see most often regret one thing: testing one partner first and losing months waiting on results before the other partner even started. In my practice, we test both partners from day one, because the cause is just as likely to be male, female, or a combination of both." — Dr. Anshika Lekhi

Fertility Tests for Women

A female fertility evaluation usually includes the following tests.

  • AMH (Anti-Müllerian Hormone) estimates the ovarian reserve.
  • FSH and LH assess ovarian function. They are usually drawn on day 2 or 3 of the cycle.
  • TSH and prolactin check thyroid function and hormones that affect ovulation.
  • A transvaginal ultrasound is used for the antral follicle count and to examine the uterus and ovaries.
  • An HSG (hysterosalpingogram) checks whether the fallopian tubes are open. It is done when indicated.

The full breakdown is on the Female Fertility Assessment in Gurgaon page.

Fertility Tests for Men

A male fertility evaluation usually includes the following tests.

  • A history and physical examination, including a check for a varicocele.
  • A semen analysis measures sperm count, motility, morphology and volume. It is usually repeated once for accuracy.
  • Hormone testing checks testosterone, FSH and LH when indicated.
  • A scrotal ultrasound is used to confirm or further assess findings from the examination or the semen analysis.

The full breakdown is on the Male Fertility Assessment in Gurgaon page.

Should Both Partners Get Tested?

Yes, and at the same time rather than one after the other. Male factors contribute to about half of all infertility cases, either alone or together with a female factor. Testing only one partner first often delays an accurate diagnosis by months. Dr. Lekhi recommends that both partners begin testing together once the standard waiting period has passed, rather than waiting on the female partner's results before considering the male partner.

When Should You Get Tested?

Get tested if you have not conceived after 12 months of regular, unprotected intercourse. Get tested after 6 months if the female partner is 35 or older. This timing follows standard recommendations from reproductive medicine bodies. Test sooner, for either partner, if there is already a reason to suspect a problem. These reasons include irregular or absent periods, a diagnosis of PCOS or endometriosis, a past pelvic infection or surgery, a known or suspected varicocele, or a previous abnormal test result that was not followed up.

What Happens After Testing?

Once the results are in, Dr. Lekhi reviews both partners' findings together and explains what they mean for your situation. The next steps depend on what the testing shows. They range from monitoring and lifestyle guidance to ovulation induction or IUI, to IVF. ICSI is recommended only when there is a male factor or another clear indication. It is not a default add-on.

What Does Fertility Testing Cost in Gurgaon?

The cost of fertility testing depends on the investigations recommended for you and your partner. While some people only need basic blood tests, others may require additional imaging or diagnostic procedures:

Test

Estimated Cost

Female Fertility hormone panel with ultrasound

₹3,000 to ₹8,000

AMH Test

₹1,800 to ₹2,500

Semen Analysis

₹1,000 to ₹1,200

HSG (If required)

Charged Separately

Fertility testing recommendations vary by individual circumstances and are not a substitute for an in-person medical evaluation. The exact tests recommended for you and your partner will be determined by Dr. Lekhi after reviewing your combined history.

Why Choose TheFertilife for Fertility Tests in Gurgaon?

  • The Fertilife's fertility work-up starts with identifying the actual cause of difficulty conceiving — not a generic package of tests, but a panel chosen based on age, medical history, and symptoms specific to each patient
  • For women, this typically includes hormonal blood tests (AMH, FSH, LH, thyroid) to assess ovarian reserve, along with ultrasound to check the uterus, ovaries, and rule out conditions like endometriosis or fibroids that can affect fertility
  • For men, semen analysis is used to assess sperm count, motility, and morphology — since male-factor infertility contributes to a significant share of cases and is often under-tested compared to female fertility work-ups
  • Results are reviewed together, not in isolation — a low AMH result, for instance, is interpreted alongside age and other markers rather than treated as a single number that decides the treatment path
  • Every fertility work-up is personally reviewed by Dr. Anshika Lekhi (MBBS, DGO), who draws on 13+ years of experience managing low AMH, own-egg IVF, and repeated IVF failure cases to decide which findings warrant further testing versus which point straight to a treatment plan

Ready to Get a Clear Diagnosis

The fastest path to an answer is testing both partners together rather than one at a time. Dr. Lekhi will decide which tests apply to your situation before you book.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. You can book a fertility test consultation with TheFertilife without a referral.

Initial consultations are usually done together. Some individual tests, such as a semen analysis or a transvaginal ultrasound, are scheduled separately based on cycle timing or test requirements.

Most hormone and semen test results are available within a few days. A full picture, including any ultrasound or HSG findings, is usually ready to discuss within one to two weeks of starting testing.

A normal result for one partner does not rule out a combined or unexplained cause. Testing is most useful when both partners' results are reviewed together.

Blood tests are a routine draw. The transvaginal ultrasound and semen analysis are generally well tolerated. An HSG may cause brief cramping during the procedure.

Individual tests range from about ₹1,000 for a male semen analysis to ₹8,000 for a full female hormone panel. The cost breakdown above has the specifics.
